Any organisation which uses public funding to achieve its aims and objectives is bound by law to adhere to certain ‘Accounting and Reporting Standards’ – both in the countries where the funds are raised and in the countries where the funds are expensed.
As an NGO it is thus vital that Operation Mercy’s Finance Function keeps up-to-date with current requirements. This is a team effort – with staff located at the International Office and finance staff on the fields all needing to work together. It is demanding work for all, as the months seem to rush past, and the conveyer belt of monthly routines rolls by relentlessly.
