The Kurdish Region of Iraq currently hosts a large population of Yezidis displaced from the Sinjar Region due to the advance of IS. Since the governments resources are stretched thin, many of these internally displaced people (IDPs) depend on humanitarian assistance to meet practical needs they require medical assistance.

Operation Mercy partners with teams of medical professionals from Europe and America to provide medical assistance to Yezidi displaced people and the host communities they live in. The short term medical teams consist of doctors, nurses, and dentists who provide medical diagnosis, treatment, medicine, and dental care. Short term medical teams come several times a year and have treated thousands of patients in the Duhok governorate of Iraq. The medical teams bring hope and alleviate the suffering of Yezidi IPDs and their host communities.
